Ah, here I am, trying to sum up all the parts. I happen to be thinking about a friendship that fell apart with time, distance and of course, because of the sheer misunderstandings created by me time and again. “Connectivity is a human right”. This is what Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been harping since the debate about net neutrality and free basics broke out. Free Basics is nothing but a re branded Internet.org, a Facebook operation whereby partnering with local telcos in the developing countries the company ( Facebook) aims to provide free internet access. The free internet access shall be limited to Facebook, Whats App( which is owned by Facebook) and a few other carefully selected websites and online services.
A lot has already been said and written about the degradation of the river Yamuna, which has almost become a dump yard for the City’s waste. But I would like to make an attempt to tell people about the plight of the Yamuna and some of the gravest violations against it by the people who consider it sacred, who once saw it as pristine and whose lives and livelihoods are intimately tied to it, even now.
I always prefer writing with a tinge of gray in it. Frankly, there is so much of Gray in every story I write. Nothing, absolutely nothing is so black and white. There are infinite shades of gray in every story written. Yet, the art of writing appears so black and white. Well, to be very honest, I like it when I get stranded between the grey areas in life. They are certainly the most uncomfortable place to be. Nobody likes to be in that in-between state where there don’t know what’s going to happen.
